ShoreTel IP Phone Hidden Information

Have you ever wondered how to find out what IP address your ShoreTel phone has? Ever need to troubleshoot connectivity from the phone or reset the phone? Read on for more information.

Viewing Phone Information

Step 1: With the phone on hook, press the Mute button. The LED should not light and you shouldn't hear any tones; if this isn't the case, lift and replace the handset.

Step 2 Dial I-N-F-O on the keypad and then press #. The following information is displayed and can be scrolled through by pressing #:
• IP Address (DHCP)
• Subnet Mask
• Gateway
• Link Speed3
• FTP Server
• Media Gateway Controller (MGC) Server
• SNTP Server (IP address)
• 802.1Q VLAN ID setting
• Application File Name
• Boot File Name
• Config File Date
• Country
• Language setting
• Application Version
• Boot Version
• Model Number
• MAC Address
• Serial Number
• Hardware Version

Rebooting Your Phone

Step 1 With the phone on hook, press the Mute button .The LED should not light and you shouldn't hear any tones; if this isn't the case, lift and replace the handset.

Step 2 Dial R-E-S-E-T on the keypad and then press #. Your phone reboots.

Checking Connectivity via PING

Step 1 With the phone on hook, press the Mute button .The LED should not light and you shouldn't hear any tones; if this isn't the case, lift and replace the handset.

Step 2 Dial P-I-N-G on the keypad and then press#. Your phone will ask you for an IP Address to ping. To check connectivity type in the IP address you want to PING via the keypad using the * key for the dots. When you are completed hit # and the PING sequence will begin and generate the results.
