Technical Sales Engineer

Position Summary

Sales Engineers are the primary technical resource for the field sales force. Sales Engineers are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our products. The Sales Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. They must be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. Must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle. At brightstack, the Sales Engineer will also act as the Technical Product Manager. In this role, you will be assisting our sales team win new business along our product sets.

Our product sets consist of Solutions for Resale, Cloud Solutions and Hardware as a Service. Engagements range in size. Examples include: Migration of servers to a virtualized environment with shared storage. We deploy firewalls and complex networks for resale or as a service (rental). Managed service solutions based on number of users, workstations, servers and/or network devices. brightstack deploys large unified communication solutions across multiple locations. Internally developed Hosted phone system. Hosted Exchange. VDI using VMWare View, Citrix or Microsoft. We deploy large wireless networks. We provide clients with wide area network design. We develop complex Contact Centers and associated applications. We provide Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions, including our own internally developed offering.

Qualifications

Strong Sales and Engineering skills.
Hold VMWare or similar certifications.
Hold Microsoft or similar certifications.
Hold CCNA or similar certification.
Have experience in a sales engineering capacity.
Possess strong written, oral and demonstration skills.
Have good Visio, or other network diagram tool, skills.
Experience working with phone systems.

Responsibilities
Listen to customer requirements and aid sales team in solution design to best meet requirements.
Aid sales team in development of solutions, proposals and quotes.
Work with manufacturers and distributors to develop Bill of Materials.
Act as subject matter expert for the technologies brightstack provides.
Perform demonstrations of brightstack solutions.
Be able to conduct business level discussions.
Build credibility for brightstack’s technical expertise.
For brightstack’s internally manufactured technical product set, develop pricing, solution briefs and train the sales staff.
Work closely with our service delivery team to accurately estimate labor required for engagements.
Ensure a smooth transition between sales and service.
